Rain X Original Glass Water Repellent Rain‑x® glass water repellent treats the glass surface with a super slick, non stick invisible barrier that repels rain, sleet and snow on contact; dramatically improving all weather visibility, safety and driving comfort. In a series of comparison tests between 10 different windshield water repellents, the project farm channel finds that rain x is no longer the best hydrophobic product in the game. Recently, i decided i wanted more hydrophobicity and have decided to go with glaco dx on the windshield; it's supposed to shed water around 35 mph. i've yet to use it personally, but i applied it on a friend's car and he likes it. To see if rain x lived up to its claims, i tested it on my own vehicle. it worked well for repelling moisture but didn’t clean as well as i would’ve liked. read below for a full review and to learn how i tested this product.

In the fight against ice, snow, and rain, the answer is yes. more than just wipers or washer fluid, rain x has a selection of treatment products for automotive glass. Rain x works by creating a hydrophobic, or water repelling, layer on the windshield. this layer causes water to bead up and roll off, rather than sticking and spreading out. It really does work, and the difference when you can see out of the whole windscreen not just where the wipers are is wonderful. if you are using your wipers a lot, they will wear it off and you need to reapply. Is rain x effective at high speed? yes, rain x’s water repellent properties are often more noticeable at higher speeds where the wind force helps disperse water droplets from the windscreen.
