The 2023 cohort is comprised of 27 students who conducted innovative research over a 10 week period in diverse topics ranging from creative novel writing to investigating ensemble federated machine learning to the use of generative adversarial networks in neural research. The program was designed to test some of the theories around creativity, creative self efficacy, theories of intelligence and general self efficacy, especially with a group of students rarely having access to summer research experiences because of their prior academic performance. Undergraduate students can apply for research grants and or enroll in iup’s u soar program which gives students the opportunity to get paid for their work. eman soliman (senior, biology pre med) was one of the undergraduate students at iup who conducted her own research.
