These grants are intended to support the implementation and programming of a long term recovery group operating in a disaster impacted community throughout the disaster recovery cycle, with the involvement of a ucc congregation, association or conference. At this time, we are working to connect response resources with communities in need – this includes coordination with church world service and the potential deployment of clean up kits. we know that at least three local ucc churches in hawaii are in communities directly affected by the flooding. Responding to the call of our christ centered faith, ucc disaster ministries support holistic community recovery worldwide, by engaging supporters, volunteers and partners to focus on preparedness, emergency relief and long term recovery. Assisting communities impacted by natural, ecological, public health, and economic crises, the ucc global h.o.p.e. team read more and its partners stand poised to help people rebuild their lives following disaster, forced migration, and other traumatic events.
