Disability Justice And Systems Advocacy Workshop Disability Since 2018 , idj has collaborated with diverse stakeholders to provide you with interesting topics to explore related to disability, ableism, disability justice, and human sexuality. we host five new webinars each year, so check out our archive. This 2 part series is for people who are interested in applying a disability justice framework to your current movement work. using a popular education methodology, we’ll begin with brief assessments of where you're at and build on existing knowledge and practices. Disabilities (dd) and family members of people with dd. during the training program, participants learn from local and national experts about disability related topics. they will also learn tactics and strategies to advocate for disability issues and impact policy change. the program consists of six two day training sessions. Join graduate students, faculty, and utd accessibility experts in conversation about how disability is experienced, understood, and is being re imagined at ut dallas, and beyond higher education. an asl interpreter will be present at this event.

The 2022 transforming justice virtual conference will focus on the powerful impact that a strong community can have on the justice framework. the conference features plenary sessions, panel discussions, and breakout sessions featuring local, regional, and national leaders in positions of influence. Project uplift is dedicated to providing resources to the south dallas community. we offer a variety of programs, including food assistance, bill payment assistance, educational training, mission trips, and student tutoring. Southeast uplift was founded by community volunteers in 1968 to halt construction of the mount hood freeway, which would have divided southeast portland, displaced residents, and led to socio economic deterioration of inner southeast communities. Monthly 1 hour webinars about the americans with disabilities act (ada), disability rights, and access held on the 4th thursday from january to october (10 webinars).
