Dimensions Within Component Pro Sketchup Community I double clicked a component until i got to its basic faces & edges, so that i could use the dimension tool by simply clicking on the edges (image 1). when i exited out of the component, the dimensions moved (image 2). Sketchup dimensions will associate with entities inside a group or component without themselves being in that group or component. used that way, my plugin lets you put all the dimensions of a particular scene onto their own layer, which is hidden on all except that scene.

Dimensions Within Component Pro Sketchup Community There are two dimensions for a component: that which is visible on the screen (type a), and that which sketchup displays when you click the component (type b). sometimes the latter is significantly larger than the former. The problem is i can’t figure out how to change dimensions of a component to affect all other components. i try by editing the component after double clicking, but it tries to maintain proportion. To resize a rectangle, a component, or a model, is essentially the same process. you can use the scale tool or the measurement tool to resize anything in sketchup. both tools can resize. To begin, open your sketchup model and select the component you wish to resize. once selected, navigate to the 'scale' tool, which can be found in the toolbar or by accessing it from the 'tools' menu. after activating the scale tool, you will notice scale grips appear around the component.
