Same for anatomy, you could take a photo and trace over it just to quickly study proportions. but in the end, i would advise against using directly color picked colors and traced sketches in a final painting. I paint a lot of landscapes and have been trying to do some portraits, and i'm having real difficulty achieving likeness of the person i am painting. i am trying as hard as i can to draw exactly what i see but it doesn't come out just right and it ends up looking sort of goofy.
