The current study is among the first to examine a dynamic, reciprocal process of social capital, using within person measures from 2,065 reports of offline and online daily social interactions from 66 participants over a 1 week period. Based on these basic differentiations, the following section introduces and discusses central concepts such as social support, social capital, social cohesion, and social networks.

In this paper, i have considered indicators of people propensity to keep themselves informed on public affairs as separated from social capital indicators, with the aim to distinguish this manifestation of civicness from the structural dimensions of social capital, as given by social networks.
