Devonport Waterfront Park Aspect Studios Facilitating larger scale renewal through the deliberate reconnection of the urban centre of devonport to the mersey river. the design weaves across a complex set of infrastructures masterfully connecting the collection of civic buildings to the water and invigorating the waterfront. This park tells the story of the unique geology and associated landscapes between cradle mountain and devonport. it speaks to the connection tasmania and the north coast to america and antarctica and mainland australia. In collaboration with lyons we where honoured with both a regional achievement award and a landscape architecture award for parks and open space for devonport waterfront park. By developing the waterfront park and hotel, the connection from the cultural and civic heart of devonport will be both visually and physically evident. we started our design thinking by drawing three key strong connections between the city, the river, and the straights.
