Devonport Waterfront Park Aspect Studios Located near the mersey river and just a short walk from the city centre, this family friendly park features covered picnic shelters, free electric bbqs, and open grassy areas perfect for relaxing or kicking a ball. The new park improves the connection between central devonport and the mersey river. it provides activity and event spaces for the community, with a nature based play space, a sculpture park, amphitheater, events lawn, and waterfront promenade among the new additions.
Devonport Waterfront Park Aspect Studios Continuation of construction of the waterfront precinct that commenced during the 2019 20 financial year. the city of devonport acknowledges the tasmanian aboriginal people as the traditional owners and ongoing custodians of lutruwita, tasmania. This park tells the story of the unique geology and associated landscapes between cradle mountain and devonport. it speaks to the connection tasmania and the north coast to america and antarctica and mainland australia. Designed by aspect studios, the park draws extensively on the local landscape, particularly its unique geology and flora. the park has completely transformed this formerly unloved area, and created a wonderful first impression for people arriving on the spirit of tasmania ferry. The play spaces contribute to community infrastructure, supporting inclusive, intergenerational use. the waterfront park was designed to accommodate a diverse range of community activities, from city workers on lunch breaks to families picnicking, children playing, and major public events.

Experience the elevated walkway devonport – a striking 160 m pier over the mersey river, offering panoramic views and spirit of tasmania farewells. The waterfront park consists of: a children’s play space with adjacent bbq shelter and public amenities; amphitheatre; water and mist feature; events space; elevated walkway; and rotunda. the waterfront park opened in february 2023. devonport city council ($17m – waterfront park).
