Developing Logic Models Cochrane Developing Logic Models Cochrane Logic models are diagrams which map out important concepts within a systematic review. they typically appear in the background of a review, but may provide an underlying framework for both the results section and the discussion. The workshop will give an overview of three main approaches to logic modelling – a priori, staged and iterative – and present worked examples from cochrane, campbell, the eppi centre and hta.

Developing Logic Models Cochrane Developing Logic Models Cochrane The absence of good practice around their use and development may be one reason for the apparent limited utility of logic models in many existing systematic reviews. Three cochrane protocols and one cochrane review described using existing logic models in full or examining components of existing logic models or reviews to develop their own while one in our sample of international development systematic reviews did so. These concerns are addressed in the second half of this paper, where we offer a set of principles in the use of logic models and an example of how we constructed a logic model for a review of school based asthma interventions. Why logic modeling? it is a useful planning tool for implementation and evaluation. it is a bridge between theory of action and evaluation questions.

This guidance offers direction on how to choose between distinct types and sub types of logic models, describes each logic model type and its application in detail, and provides templates for getting started with the develop ment of an hta sr specific logic model. Outcomes and activities. developing a logic model is a practical guide that focuses on how you put together a basic logic model to help you map the links between your aims,. The authors selected each item based on established criteria for high quality logic models. the libguide includes materials in four categories: developing logic models, instructional materials, logic models for program planning and implementation, and logic models for program evaluation. Specifically, we aim to identify advantages and challenges associated with this process, and deduce lessons learnt for staged logic model development and logic model development in general.
