Deborah Frieze Intentional Endowments Network Deborah frieze is founder and president of the boston impact initiative, an impact investing fund focused on economic justice, which means investing in opportunity for all people—especially those most oppressed or abandoned by our current economic system—to lead a dignified and productive life. This initiative connects, builds off of, and compliments ien’s net zero endowments, investment governance, and justice, equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Intentional endowments network (ien) is a membership organization of over 200 endowments, foundations, investment consultants and managers, and nonprofits involved in environmentalist initiatives, as well as racial justice and economic equality. 1. The intentional endowments network supports colleges, universities, and other mission driven tax exempt organizations in aligning their endowment investment practices with their mission, values, and sustainability goals without sacrificing financial returns. Ien is comprised of leaders from endowments, investment consultants, outsourced cios, managers, and academic experts. it helps endowments find the most strategic, effective, and feasible ways to approach investing in the context of 21st century sustainability challenges.
