Data Intake Midrc
Document Moved The medical imaging and data resource center (midrc) is actively soliciting the donation of medical images and clinical data related to covid 19 from medical centers, community hospital, private practices, and others. This interview with maryellen giger, phd, delves into the creation of the midrc imaging repository, how its data can be used to develop and evaluate ai algorithms, ways that bias can be introduced—and potentially mitigated—in medical imaging models, and what the future may hold.
Midrc Data Midrc Midrc bih enables researchers to query and analyze structured data aggregated from independent data repositories. instead of storing data files directly, midrc bih provides unique identifiers that researchers can use to access files from the original data nodes where they are stored. All images are stored in standard dicom format, fully de‑identified, and paired with rich clinical metadata, including patient demographics, covid‑19 status, imaging protocol tags, and harmonized descriptions based on loinc standards. These are jupyter or r notebooks that demonstrate how to access data in midrc using python or r code. Midrc is a multi institutional collaborative initiative driven by the medical imaging community that was initiated in late summer 2020 to help combat the global covid 19 health emergency. midrc is an ai ready research dataset, (standarized, aggregated, and curated for machine learning research).

If you have any questions about access or the registration process, please contact midrc [email protected]. Midrc receives medical images and associated metadata through intake portals at the rsna and acr, and then, through a data commons portal on the gen3 data ecosystem, enables a single public access point for data discovery. Arpa h biomedical data fabric (bdf) toolbox is a national infrastructure for data ingestion, curation, data discovery, and visualization to support trustworthy ai in healthcare. Overview. the medical imaging and data resource center (midrc, pronounced “mid ric”) makes high quality medical imaging data freely available to registered researchers through its data commons.
