Daily Driver Appreciation R E30
Daily Driver Appreciation R E30 So nice seeing a good e30 that’s actually being used like a commuter too. what ferry? ugh why must a touring be 30k. edmonds kingston near seattle. i got lucky and bought mine for a very reasonable price from a friend last year. yes, he regrets selling it. ah yeah we already had this exact convo a few months ago! haha. enjoy. This made me question whether in the sea of financed cars these days, are there any remaining petrol heads who daily or atleast use their e30s often? as we all know the e30s were made at a time when bmw made quality cars and thats why alot of ours are still around after 30 years.
Daily Driver Appreciation R E30 I've ran e30, e50, or e74 (pump e85 here) almost exclusively for the past 2 years, and up until covid i consistently put 100 miles a day on the car monday friday every week. i can't remember the last time i ran straight 91 except to just verify the ngauge tune when we switched to hptuners. Fast forward to the middle of this past week and i decided another e30 for a daily would be the ticket. i picked up this 1990 bmw 325 sedan in silver. it hadn't been driven in over 2 years, was all original and had zero rust. I liked the regal as a daily, but winter was coming up and i didnt want to drive it in the snow. but i love the ram cause it fits 4 adults with ease, can haul stuff in the bed, and has decent power for the small 318 thats in it. E30’s are inherently good daily drivers; they were designed for it. they’re just a bit out dated now. i have daily driven two and they were not only the most reliable cars that i’ve ever daily driven, but they were the easiest to fix.

Nice to see you're back in another e30. its amazing what a lip and drop can do for these cars. the aluminum monster is partially the reason why there's an aluminum block m52 in my basement right now lol. I daily drove my e30 for the last 15 years or so, i recently got a new winter vehicle (subaru) so now it stays parked over the winter months. it was always a bit angry at me if it was below 20 c ( 4 f) outside. i still don't have the heart to sell my e30, so now i have two cars. Finding a cheap, low mileage, well maintained e30 might be tough in today's market as well unfortunately. my advice is look for bmw enthusiast groups on facebook or social media. What do you guys reckon use the e30 as a proper daily drive, or keep it for special occasions and get something else for the commute (which would make us a three car household slightly embarrassing for someone who works in public transport)?.
