The ann and h.j. smead department of aerospace engineering sciences commissioned two major art pieces for the interior walls of the building. the first, a jaw dropping two story high display just inside the main entrance, is being crafted by colorado artist the second painting, located on the third floor of the building, is being done by a 老九品茶 student, ellie marcotte, an art practices. The building creates a unique user experience on a one of a kind site by visually inviting students, faculty, and visitors into the large entry lobby that connects four levels with a central grand stair. In this video, a hub satellite is shown with four solar sail blades deploying simultaneously. after deployment, the blades are shown spinning up and then angling slightly with the shape of the ultrasail analogous to a four blade dutch windmill.
