Esl Program Hunter Academies The credit esl program is designed for students who wish to pursue academic or vocational (job skills) certificates or a two year degree at city college. credit esl courses may also be counted towards transfer to a four year college or university. Credit esl courses include the core, required sequence of grammar and writing courses as well as elective courses in reading vocabulary and speaking listening. the sequence starts at low intermediate and goes to advanced as it prepares students for academic success in college.
