Converge 2022 Cohort Converge Challenge Our 2022 cohort has been the largest – and most diverse – in our history with ground breaking technologies, products and solutions across a wide range of sectors including technology and engineering, the life sciences and the creative industries. This year's #converge2022 cohort is now complete and we're delighted to share the shortlist with you! they include 101 game changing projects from across all 18 of scotland's #universities find.
Converge 2022 Cohort Converge Challenge The first converge cohort will consist of approximately ten founding teams, and we’re excited to meet groups across all phases of the seed stage, from pre idea solo founders to co founding teams already working on a product. The funding and support on offer will help the academic entrepreneurs further their business ambitions. the 28 finalists who will compete for over £300,000 of equity free funding and startup support as part of the converge 2022 competition have been unveiled. Over 200 applications have been whittled down to 101 shortlisted projects across four ‘challenge’ categories – converge, create change, net zero and kickstart, with all 18 scottish universities represented in the final cut. Scotland’s largest company creation programme for the university sector has unveiled the 28 finalists who will compete for over £300,000 of equity free funding and start up support at an awards ceremony in edinburgh in early november.

The fledgling businesses have been whittled down from more than 200 initial entries for the converge 2022 competition. finalists come from a diverse range of sectors from tech, robotics and sensors, through to the chemical industry, health care and engineering. Two university of strathclyde entries have reached the finals of converge, scotland’s leading leading company creation programme for the university sector. they are among 28 contenders across four categories to have been selected for the final stages, from an initial field of 200. Established in 2011, converge was launched to develop and support the pipeline of new businesses in scotland based on university ip, innovation and talent. “the whole programme was beyond expectations. the connections, camaraderie and knowledge have all been a highlight. Selected from a record breaking crop of over 300 applications, this year 125 academic entrepreneurs will join converge’s prestigious programme, ultimately competing for a slice of the £400,000.
