Consortium Medewsa Eu
Home Medewsa Eu Medewsa will offer comprehensive, inclusive, and vulnerability awareness and capacity building activities to enhance multi hazard risk reduction and societal support at the europe mediterranean africa (eumea), country, and regional levels. Medewsa addresses these challenges by providing novel solutions to ensure timely, precise, and actionable impact and finance forecasting, and early warning systems (ews) that support the rapid deployment of first responders to vulnerable areas.
Home Medewsa Eu The eu funded medewsa project will improve impact forecasting and early warning systems across the european mediterranean african region using novel tools such as ai. Medewsa is an innovation action (ia) project led by the justus liebig university of giessen (jlu) and a consortium of 30 partners. building on existing tools, medewsa will develop a fully integrated impact based multi hazard early warning system (ews). Create a suite of comprehensive ai based products, building on operational ews and insights from medewsa’s four paired twin pilot sites, that bridge areas with different climatic and geographic conditions but similar hazardous events, to deliver innovative forecasting and impact assessment services. It directly contributes to the united nations’ sustainable development goals, to improve the european union’s competitiveness and growth, and to protect citizens of the eu and beyond. medewsa includes pilot sites, organized in four ‘twins’, to foster collaboration and demonstrate the transferability of its tools.
