Conservation Specialist Technicians Ngv Our technicians have practical experience in working with a wide range of significant and unique works of art and possess a broad understanding of art history, conservation ethics and goals, and strategies, methods, materials, and techniques used in preventive care of collections. Conservation Specialist Technicians Ngv The first ngv conservation policy was written by the staff of about 4 conservators in 1984. since then the section staff has grown considerably and the role of the department has matured and evolved, encompassing a much more integrated approach stressing collection management over repair. A team of 25 conservators and specialist technicians are charged with monitoring the display and storage conditions of all gallery collections. two of the team are devoted solely to works on loan from external parties including other state institutions and galleries worldwide.
