Community Giving Kootenay Co Op Our community grants program offers grants, each valued up to $1,000, for projects or initiatives that help strengthen and support our local community. at least four grants are awarded two times a year for a minimum of 8 grants per year. All youth (up to and including 25 years) who are pursuing post secondary education and are active co op members, or whose parent(s) are active co op members, are eligible to apply.

Because of this program, we can support those of us in the community who need it most during the holiday season. this year our holiday giving program was able to donate over $20,000 in food and wellness items to various organizations in our area. With community donations to local organizations a robust composting program, together we can divert almost all food from heading to the landfill. thank you to all the local organizations that provide food shelter to those in our community who need it most. The kootenay co op community giving committee is proud to announce the recipients of last quarter's community grants! the grants are funded by spare change in the café donation jars. lots of small donations add up to big gains for our community! read about the worthy recipients here!.
