Community Development Seed The golden s.e.e.d.s. foundation (tgsf) inc., is a community development organization whose mission is to create affordable housing, promote economic development, and facilitate community building in the oak cliff neighborhood commonly known as "the bottom". Community seed banks are farmer managed organizations that conserve and sustainably manage local crop and tree diversity. they are found in many countries of the global south and increasingly in the global north.
Community Development Seed Community seed banks will help to preserve seed of the most adapted varieties for the region, either local varieties or new ones coming from breeding programs. Seed grants have a profound impact on community centered development by enabling local organizations to address specific challenges faced by their communities. these grants often focus on empowering marginalized groups, enhancing social cohesion, and promoting sustainable practices. To broaden understanding of seed sharing and its diverse practices, this paper provides a foundational landscape level analysis of urban community seed sharing initiatives from 100 urban. Csbs roles discussed in this paper show that csbs can effectively integrate the formal and informal seed systems to improve food security and can be a platform to trigger innovation adoption through a bottom up approach and stimulate community development.
