Like its predecessor programmes socrates, leonardo da vinci and elearning, the lifelong learning programme seeks, among other goals, to promote cooperation and mobility, and to strenghten the european dimension in education.
Life Long Learning Mobility Into Projects The objective of this action is to give future teachers the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the european dimension to teaching and learning, to enhance their knowledge of foreign languages, other european countries and their education systems and to improve their teaching skills. Part of the eu’s lifelong learning programme, the comenius actions aim to help young people and educational staff better understand the range of european cultures, languages and values. I hope that they will serve as best practice examples and inspiration to others. i invite all those active in school education to draw upon this rich source of successful activities and to find inspiration for their own comenius activities in the new lifelong learning programme. The mobility schemes, i.e. learning periods abroad, were the most successful in this respect. mobility schemes have not only enhanced individuals’ skills but also induced progress at institutional level.
