I backed the original colostle kickstarter because it was a solo rpg and the setting interested me. however, i struggled to play it because i've since come to realise that i struggle with these types of games in general where they are very open ended and you are just given prompts. Time passed and adventures came and went, until one day i was lucky enough to receive a review copy of the new colostle core book from the amazing nich angell. this combines the original core book with the roomlands expansion, which creates a more well rounded initial experience. Hello everyone,it’s been quite a while since i last posted on my substack, as a wave of rpg exhaustion has hit me, leading to me taking a hiatus form both solo and normal rpg playing. Tl;dr:colostle is simple, whimsical and effective game which looks like a lot of fun. colostle is definitely worth exploring if you fancy a solo journalling roleplaying experience. it's beautifully illustrated and well written. it was the artwork which originally caught my eye.
