This new state of the art facility, along with its sister laboratories ctl biolabs and ctl engineering, is designed to support the latest methods in laboratory teaching in stem subjects.

The collaborative teaching laboratory (ctl), which opened in 2018, is a hub for science and engineering teaching with multi functional labs for subject specific and cross disciplinary teaching and team working. It is an inspirational university building where the architecture not only supports and improves the delivery of research and science courses, but also facilitates collaboration between departments that have previously had operated independently of each other. Our laboratories bring together modern, flexible spaces that support cutting edge, practice led stem education. the main collaborative teaching laboratory building spans three floors, housing a wet lab, a dry lab and an e lab, supported by informal work and social areas for more than 100 learners. Bios is a state of the art facility supporting the university’s school of health and life sciences, providing new teaching labs, a new super lab, research and clinical skills space.
