Collaborative Partnerships Vacfss Partnerships with communities are one of the foundations of our practice. we work collaboratively with affiliated first nations and other indigenous agencies to gather a strong circle of support around the children and families we serve. Our goal is to work to create a stronger community through partnerships with other service providers and by connecting with community resources. vacfss has been a child and family serving.
Collaborative Partnerships Vacfss Cruw is based at vacfss and operates in partnership with the indigenous research partnerships at the faculty of land and food systems at the university of british columbia (ubc), the centre for sustainable food systems at the ubc farm, and pacific community resources society (pcrs). Vacfss will be focusing on the development of in house training for staff to ensure consistent best practice across the agency. Vacfss has built strong partnerships in the community with a number of community agencies in vancouver, including fir square, vancouver coastal health, safe babies and foundations program, developmental disabilities association, community living society of bc, hollyburn and milieu, oak tree clinic, luma and native housing, rain city housing. The culturally relevant urban wellness program (cruw) was developed in 2011 by a community partnership led by the vancouver aboriginal child and family services society (vacfss) interested in promoting the use of green space as a source of wellness and concrete skill development for vulnerable youth.

This report is the result of the first phase of the vacfss iicrd collaboration, a process of deep, reflective discussion with managers, key practice knowledge keepers, and front line staff, supervisors, and administrative staff.
