Coagulation Cascade Made Easy
Cascade What is the coagulation cascade? the coagulation cascade, or secondary hemostasis, is a series of steps in response to bleeding caused by tissue injury, where each step activates the next and ultimately produces a blood clot. The coagulation cascade is a series of reactions, catalysed by protein enzymes known as coagulation ‘factors’. when activated, these factors trigger the conversion of other factors in the coagulation cascade resulting in secondary haemostasis.
Coagulation Cascade A hematologist shares her tips and tricks for teaching the coagulation cascade to medical students and other learners. she uses mnemonics, analogies, and visual aids to make the complex topic easier to remember and understand. I know many of you are tempted to mug up the cascade without understanding it and print it in examination. but that is not going to help and i recommend you to spend a few minutes learning the coagulation cascade and not just reading it. Learn clotting factors (coagulation cascade) in the easiest way! 🩸this video covers: ️ all 13 clotting factors (with mnemonic) ️ intrinsic, extrinsic & comm. Memorizing the coagulation cascade can seem like an impossible task with so many clotting factors. medgames.io has made it easy with our free matching game and resources to help practice your knowledge. the best mnemonic and links to videos included. This video explains the body's clotting process, focusing on the role of fibrinogen and fibrin in forming a solid plug at the site of a blood vessel injury. it further delves into the intrinsic and extrinsic pathways of the coagulation cascade, highlighting the importance of thrombin in both the clot formation and the negative feedback mechanisms. The document provides an overview of the prothrombin time (pt) pathway and activated partial thromboplastin time (aptt ptt) pathway of the coagulation cascade. it uses mnemonic devices and illustrations to help explain the factors involved in each pathway and where they converge.
