Climate Engine Drought Gov
Climate Engine Drought Gov The climate engine enables users to quickly process and visualize satellite earth observations and gridded weather data for environmental monitoring and to improve early warning of drought, wildfire, and crop failure risk. The us forest service (usfs) relies on datasets and functionality available in the climate engine app to monitor forest resources, meadows, snowpack, drought, climate change, and more. in particular, the app is being used by the pacific southwest region as part of their meadow assessment protocol.
Climate Engine Drought Gov Drought.gov leverages climate engine to process large high resolution gridded datasets with substantially lower costs and effort, and increased standardization for an ‘apples to apples’ comparison. Climate engine works with forward thinking organizations to help them reduce risk, evaluate opportunities, and build a more sustainable planet. To overcome these challenges, climate engine has partnered with the blm and noaa's national integrated drought information system (drought.gov) to produce consistent, up to date, and accessible drought reports for all lands lands in the conterminous united states (conus). The multi indicator drought indices look at current drought conditions across the u.s. by integrating several key drought monitoring indices into a single objective, computer generated map.

Climate engine allows users to analyze and interact with climate and earth observations for decision support related to drought, water use, agricultural, wildfire, and ecology. Climate engine is partnering with the bureau of land management (blm) to guide drought planning on blm managed lands with support from noaa’s national integrated drought information system (nidis). In fact, noaa operates an operational version of the climate engine api that we deploy into their cloud. Drought.gov is using climate engine to produce hundreds of drought indices each day, based on multiple leading foundational datasets from noaa, nasa, and other partners.
