Rusd Civic Showcase For 2023 Student Hires The showcase highlights innovations in educational technology related to civics that have recently been, or are being, supported by different federal agencie. “this year, we will focus on the specific programs that make these schools successful in delivering quality civics education to students. we want to identify and replicate these programs as models to benefit schools throughout california.”. The state seal of civic engagement, created in 2021, is given by the state superintendent of public instruction to students who show a solid understanding of the u.s. constitution, democratic values and the responsibilities of active citizenship. More than 200 iusd students earned the california state seal of civic engagement. iusd is a nationally recognized school district in stem, the arts and more. It was a summer of learning in iusd! in addition to preparing for the new school year, our outstanding iusd staff also participated in a series of annual professional learning and planning meetings to continually improve our teaching and learning practices and how we serve students and families. We evaluate and share evidence based findings that demonstrate the value and impact of civic education for our country’s future. students who receive a comprehensive and high quality civic education, are more likely to be informed and actively engaged citizens and voters. Demonstrate civic knowledge, skills, and dispositions through self reflection; and exhibit character traits that reflect civic mindedness and a commitment to positively impact the classroom, school, community and or society.
