Child Friendly Redbridge Redbridge is officially recognised as a unicef uk child friendly community, a major milestone that reflects our borough’s deep commitment to putting children’s rights at the heart of local. The borough of redbridge has become the first place in england to be officially recognised by unicef uk as a child friendly community.

Child Friendly Redbridge Redbridge has partnered with unicef to roll out “child friendly redbridge”, which will aim redbridge to become accredited globally as “child friendly” by 2025. this will have great benefits for your child. it will place children at the heart of the decision making process at redbridge council. Following today’s launch, the council will work with local children and young people to understand which areas or ‘badges’ they think should be prioritised to make redbridge more child friendly – for example feeling safe or staying healthy. On tuesday, we’ll host our child friendly redbridge assessment day. this is a key milestone in our journey to becoming a unicef recognised borough that puts the needs and voices of children and young people at the heart of everything we do. thank you to the schools, youth workers, parents, and council staff preparing for the visit. Since the programme began in 2019, we have listened to thousands of children and young people to understand what life in redbridge is like for them and what they want to see change.
