Chickering & sons was an american piano manufacturer that operated in boston, massachusetts, from the 1820s until 1903, when it merged with three others to form american piano company.
Chickering Sons Pianos Pianos built under the labels of “chickering & mackay” or “chickering & mackays” are exceedingly rare today. in 1852, the name of the firm was changed to chickering & sons when chickering brought in his three sons, thomas, frank and george, as partners. Chickering & sons pianos, founded in 1823, is one of the oldest piano manufacturers in the united states, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and rich, resonant sound.
