The Scientific Rigor Required For Interdisciplinary Studies Research Lastly, we reviewed our analysis to identify evidence of the three emergent themes encompassing major challenges of interdisciplinary researchers from data we collected during our workshop: 1) disciplinary differences, 2) professional integration, and 3) collaborative practicalities.
