Cdc Superfast Broadband Pfa Research Superfast cornwall is a programme to bring fibre broadband to cornwall and the isles of scilly, giving a much needed boost to the local economy. it is funded by the european union, bt and cornwall council, and managed by cornwall development company (cdc). The project has worked closely with a range of partners, including four villages; st breward, pendeen, stoke climsland and st dennis in cornwall. the research work has been undertaken in conjunction with cornwall rural community charity (crcc) and cornwall council.
Cornwall Housing Pfa Research The project had the potential to provide extensive economic, social and infrastructure outcomes for cornwall and in essence, superfast cornwall is a case study in transforming a rural european region with fibre broadband as a key enabling infrastructure. Superfast cornwall started with aspirations, challenges and ambitious goals that had never been attempted before. but five years later, the independent evidence is clear: we’ve kept every promise, and exceeded every target. The research supported the implementation of the eu funded £68 million superfast cornwall programme (2011 current), the biggest single investment of the eu convergence programme and a rural broadband pilot in the most economically deprived region of europe. The research presented in this thesis was part funded by the european regional development fund during the period 2012 2016, bringing greater connectivity to cornwall and the isles of scilly (superfast cornwall).
