The aim of the ukccsrc is to provide a national focal point for carbon capture & storage (ccs) research and development in order to bring together the user community and academics to analyse problems, devise and carry out world leading research, and share delivery.

Ukccsrc Carbon Capture Storage Ccs Ccs Explained Ukccsrc Since our creation in 2012, we have supported, strengthened and integrated the uk ccs community. the excellence of the uk research base is internationally recognised, with many of our 300 academic members collaborating with ccs organisations across the world. Leading experts from the ukccsrc discuss the uk’s current carbon capture and storage (ccs) landscape, and how their network is accelerating deployment through research, collaboration, and policy support to help achieve climate targets. The uk carbon capture and storage research centre (ukccsrc) leads and coordinates a programme of underpinning research on all aspects of ccs (carbon capture and storage) in support of basic science and uk government efforts on energy and climate change. The ukccsrc is supported by the epsrc with a mission to ensure that carbon capture and storage (ccs) plays an effective role in helping the uk achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

We are exploring the social, technical, and economic barriers and advantages associated with the large scale deployment of ccs in the uk’s energy system. this work serves as an integrating effort across the three main themes of capture, storage, and systems and policy. The health and safety executive is responsible for regulating the health and safety of carbon capture, usage and storage (ccus) operations, both on and offshore. the health and safety at work etc act 1974 is the primary piece of legislation covering occupational health and safety in great britain.
