Career Accelerator Wakeed What is career accelerator? career accelerator, developed in partnership with the wake county public school system, is designed for rising 10th –12th grade wcpss students. Career accelerator connected 467 wake county public school system school students with 42 local businesses this past school year, delivering hands on career exposure and 411 micro credentials.
Career Accelerator Wakeed Career accelerator is a new workforce development program created to provide high school students in 10th through 12th grade with immersive experiences with local companies exploring targeted career fields. Career accelerator, developed in partnership with the wake county public school system, will be offered to approximately 1,000 rising 10th –12th grade wcpss students this summer at no cost to students and families. The weeklong, full day experience will serve 300 rising 10th–12th grade wcpss students, connecting them with dozens of local employers for real world workplace immersions and hands on career. Before the school and work day begin, partners read volunteers read with two “developing readers” for a total of 30 minutes. this time together helps boost students’ confidence and enjoyment in reading.
