Captive Teaser Trailer Sounds of cinema review of captive directed by jerry jameson and starring kate mara and david oyelowo. Sometimes your hunch can be completely off. doesn't matter if you're a good cop otherwise. and this is just one of the sub stories that are woven into the story. a story that is very close to reality, which makes this tough to watch. ryan reynolds is our driving force as his character (and his wife) cannot forget and forgive what happened to them. Film review: ‘captive’ david oyelowo and kate mara carry a true crime story with faith based elements that works best as a two hander. Though much of the drama is clunky and flat, the taut, visceral performances by david oyelowo and kate mara never err. i was engaged throughout. that's good enough for me. i like real life stories. i get a chance to experience what it is like to be in such real situation. i'm also a kate mara fan.

What happened in those early morning hours as murderer brian nichols held her at gunpoint in her atlanta suburb home played out like a movie. and now it is one. captive, the new thriller from paramount pictures, recounts the chilling events for the big screen. A redemption story that’s admirably devoid of sentimentality, captive traces the life changing hours that connected an escaped prisoner and the troubled waitress he held hostage. The plot: captive is an odd sort of film; initially reminiscent of last year’s no good deed, starring idris elba, the film quickly changes tone into a thriller, before twisting again, and becoming a redemption tale with heavy religious overtones. A bruised, would be thriller that’s really a oil and water mix of piety and paranoia, “captive” tries to combine popcorn crunching entertainment with higher values and holier virtues.
