Events are taking place in our own intimate jazz club at the palace hotel buxton as well as at the pavilion arts centre in the pavilion gardens, both in the heart of town. Recognised nationally and internationally as one of the uk’s leading arts festivals, buxton international festival is a summer celebration of the very best opera, music, jazz and books in the heart of the beautiful peak district. The buxton festival fringe has always had a strong programme of musical events and this year is no exception. with almost 40 separate performances from cabaret to symphony orchestra the choice is mouth watering. The overture starts rather tentatively, but it soon builds up a head of steam which powerfully drives the pace of the rest of the work, particularly in the fervent, emphatic choruses as sung by here by the buxton festival chorus.
