There have been tremendous strides in restoring the mill creek in recent years. thanks to the work of the mill creek alliance and the many people who have gotten involved in the work of cleaning up and monitoring the creek, it has returned to some semblance of a natural waterway.

For decades, low head dams that enclose sewer lines have obstructed the creek and prevented fish from migrating upstream. now, the nonprofit mill creek alliance is getting ready to modify the. The mill creek alliance has undertaken thirty three ecological restoration projects along the mill creek and its tributaries, including bank stabilization, streambed stabilization, wetland restoration, and wildlife habitat restoration. Through inclusive, meaningful community engagement and collaborative action, the alliance strives to create a mill creek watershed that is a healthy ecosystem where people and communities can thrive. On saturday, mill creek alliance members and volunteers rolled up their sleeves and came together for the 11th annual mill creek cleanup, which helps to restore the community asset.
