Brain And Cognitive Development Lab Neuroscience Program Illinois Our studies use extensive behavioral assessments, neuroimaging protocols looking at the structure and the function of the brain, genetic information and longitudinal designs to allow multidimensional characterization of memory development. We utilize various experimental methods to explore children’s cognitive capacities such as conducting behavioral experiments and eeg studies. these studies mainly take place in labotories in psychology department in sun yat sen university, kindergartens, or medical institutions.

The Lab The Brain Development Lab
The Lab The Brain Development Lab

The Lab The Brain Development Lab We study cognitive development from infancy to adulthood using brain and behavioral measures. our research addresses two broad questions about cognitive development: what basic perceptual and cognitive abilities are we born with? how do we use these basic abilities to form uniquely human knowledge?. Researchers in the brain, cognition and developmental laboratory are working to answer these questions and to better understand how the brain supports learning throughout the lifespan. The lab is directed by dr. daniel c. hyde, professor of psychology & neuroscience. we study cognitive development from infancy to adulthood using brain and behavioral measures (see lab publications). we are also involved in the manynumbers and manybabies multi lab worldwide collaborative projects. It draws on the latest data from neurobiology, multimodal brain imaging, and cognitive neuroscience to construct a developmental model of the emergence of the human neurocognitive system. Our research aims to characterize how developmental effects in human cognition, and specifically human memory, are enabled and limited by the unfolding of a range of processes of brain development. The overarching goal of the research in the brain, cognition and development lab is to better understand how experience influences learning from infancy into childhood and when adults become perceptual experts.
