Offered three times a year, this 16 week course explores the foundations of judaism and jewish living, including torah and other sacred texts, prayer, holidays, jewish ethics, and lifecycle moments, as well as history, israel, and the american jewish experience. This judaism 101 course offered annually at the boston synagogue is designed for individuals and couples wishing to learn more about judaism or who are considering becoming jewish. The jewish learning fellowship (jlf) classes offer a safe space to make friends, build community, and explore what being jewish means to you and your peers. this all happens through the lens of meaningful jewish text learning with delicious meals and stipends for your time. Inspired by the frankfurt lehrhaus of 1920s germany, lehrhaus is a jewish tavern and house of learning where people of all backgrounds can grab a book from the shelf, meet with a hevruta (study partner), take an interesting class, and delight in amazing jewish food and drink. Experience jewish life at jcc greater boston—celebrating traditions, family connection, learning, and community through inclusive programs.
