Blasphemous Review Gamecritics
Blasphemous Review Don T Let Yourself Go As an action game, blasphemous is designed to feel exhilarating in the hands, but the deliberately unpleasant tone makes it feel more akin to horror. i won’t deny that it’s a joy to, say, squash an enemy combatant like a bug under the weight of his own shield, but the violence here is more often sad and sickening. Blasphemous is a gothic horror masterpiece that can't be missed. blasphemous is a marvelous work of the metroidvania genre with an art style based on pixel art and which features exquisite combat mechanics and an eye filling visual environment marked by gloom and desolation.
Blasphemous Review Pc Gamer There are so many issues with the game i don't know where to start. probably the most frustrating is the damage knockdown system where if you get hit, your character will fall down, stand back up, and get hit again with no way to avoid it. this will sometimes be repeated multiple times in succession during boss fights. As yet another metroidvania with a dark souls bent, blasphemous is an enjoyable descent into a pitiless world partially marred by some cumbersome mechanics and tedium. with a title like. The brotherhood of silent sorrow sends penitents on a pilgrimage. Blasphemous is a mostly solid action platformer. beautiful yet grotesque artwork and fun moment to moment gameplay is held back by a few instances of badly flawed level design and some questionable boss mechanics.

Blasphemous received "generally favorable" reviews according to review aggregator website metacritic. [14][15][16][17] it received praise for its visual style, combat, boss battles and interconnected world while criticism was reserved towards its level design, gameplay mechanics and backtracking. In conclusion, one gets the feeling that blasphemous is a game speaking to tradition: a metroidvania and souls like crossover that engages, via art aesthetic and storytelling method, the concepts of penitence, mercy, and self punishment within a medieval catholic framework. At such times, blasphemous feels like a game for those who crave the mystique and grotesqueness of souls, but aren't prepared to pay as dearly in terms of blood and sweat. I own the game on gog but i still wanted to write a review about it on steam. tl;dr: blasphemous is a great, although undeniably flawed semi metroidvania souls like platformer hybrid that is well worth experiencing, despite many of its annoying aspects.
