Bishop Scott S June Reflection
Bishop Scott S June Reflection Our assembly theme for 2025 is “imagine? imagine! imagine…” and i am excited to imagine with you in the months to come. paul’s word of praise which serves as our scriptural foundation for this year’s assembly is both a word of promise and a word of challenge. For the son of god, jesus christ, whom we proclaimed among you, silvanus and timothy and i, was not “yes and no”; but in him it is always “yes.” for in him every one of god’s promises is a “yes.” for this reason it is through him that we say the “amen,” to the glory of god.
Bishop Scott S July Reflection Because june is also pride month, and that is sometimes a homily topic, we have marked four reflections which contain pride themes. see the parenthetical marker after the reflection title. May god bless you throughout this month of june as we turn toward, and meditate upon, the pierced heart of our savior the heart that frees you and me from sin and heals our brokenness. As we begin this new chapter in the history of christ’s one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church, let’s ask the holy spirit to come into our hearts and renew them with the holy fire of god’s love. On trinity sunday, we reflect with saints bonaventure and augustine on the trinitarian life—the divine mystery we enter through baptism. Friends, our gospel today calls us to entrust our lives completely to god. how often the bible compels us to meditate on the meaning of faith! we might say that the scriptures rest upon faith and that they remain inspired at every turn by the spirit of faith.
