2016 Bioengineering Capstone Design Symposium Uw Bioengineering Capstone design is a rite of passage for all northeastern college of engineering students as they test their engineering education against real world problems. our bioengineering students. Our design features carefully controlled, automated fluid intake and disposal, a modular optical configuration capable of resolving objects under 2 microns, and a machine learning classification algorithm capable of discerning contaminants in images.

2017 Bioengineering Capstone Design Symposium Uw Bioengineering At rice university, the bioengineering capstone program is defined by a commitment to real world collaborative, experiential learning, access to diverse facilities and dedicated mentorship and proximity to the texas medical center and local community resources. This capstone project will focus on the compilation of design requirements, searching for optimal design parameters as well as the prototyping of a compact, mobile surgical robotic platform which will integrate the soft robotic instruments and controllers for bimanual operation. The bioengineering senior capstone design course (bioe 192) trains berkeley’s bioengineering students for leadership and innovation in the medical technology arena. The capstone project, led by bioengineering professors holly golecki and jenny amos, is the culmination of all the skills students have acquired these past four years. starting with a real world problem, students design, prototype, and present their solutions in the capstone showcase.

Bioengineering senior capstone design is an intense, open ended, team based design experience—spanning fall and winter quarters—in which students learn by applying the biodesign innovation process for health technology innovation. The success of the rice bioengineering capstone program stems from the course curriculum, interdisciplinary approach, access to resources, strong mentorship, and proximity to the texas medical center and houston location. On monday, may 8, the fischell department of bioengineering (bioe) senior capstone class presented 24 novel concepts at the annual capstone design competition. Student teams work in consultation with faculty and industrial consultants in the design of functional and practical systems, devices, or processes, taking into account safety, sustainability, management and economic considerations.
