Music Oxford Improvisers Each musician joined a zoom session from their home location. the zoom meeting was used to co ordinate the performance activity but in order to optimize the sound quality, each player recorded their own performance. these recordings were shared and the final mix created by nini sakhri. Teresa hackel, born in berlin and based in switzerland, and eiko yamada, born in tokyo and based in germany, have known each other for about twenty years. as free improvising musicians, each sought her own way of expressing herself, and each discovered her own colours in the recorder.

Who are we?. We’re an eclectic bunch. the exposition of free improvisation methods, allows each participant to bring their own tapestry of musical heritage and persuasions to bear. what we all have in common is an enjoyment of creative music making in the moment. We perform and promote free music in the oxford area, primarily by musicians living, studying and working in the locality. activities include : weekly sessions open to all performances and workshops we also frequently welcome visiting musicians and collaborate with other performing and visual artists. Our weekly sessions are open to all players of any instrument and at any technical level. there are about 25 members of oxford improvisers but the monday evening sessions have on average no more than 10 so we try to make the proceedings as inclusive and welcoming as possible.
