Autodesk Recap Export Layers Consider the following conditions for needing to export parts of a recap project: scans cannot be registered correctly. delete scan points permanently to reduce the project area. In recap we can move the points onto various layers of our choosing such as floors, ceilings, walls or furniture for example. this allows us to more easily manage point cloud scans and access the information we are interested in.

Autodesk Recap Export Layers Learn how to create a new project, import scan files, and select coordinate system. then, publish the project to the cloud. once the project is published in the cloud, you can access the point. Use mesh layers to control visibility and export of geometry. within recap’s mesh editor, a series of suitable layers can be created; in this example, walls, floors, roof structure and clutter etc. the mesh elements will initially be unassigned but can be placed onto appropriate layers as needed. Export to autodesk® recap® reconstructor® can directly export point clouds in a .rcp project format for a more complete and faster integration with the autodesk® recap® software. Recap is a program by autodesk to import raw 3d poincloud scans from certain supported laser scanning devices, e.g. faro laser scanners. it can also be used for photogrammetry; the creation of pointcloud from a seelction of photographs. this tutorial will guide you through the importing of raw scans as well as simple pointcloud modifications.

Autodesk recap is the reality capture hub within the autodesk ecosystem. the software converts point clouds from various scanner brands into rcp rcs format optimized for revit, civil 3d, and other autodesk products. Check out our blog, where we look at how to export layers in autodesk recap pro and how it allows you to more efficiently manage point cloud scans and access…. Subject to the resolution that you have captured your scans, if you want to lighten them up (for use in recap), you may want to consider exporting as *.zfs rather than *.e57 or *.ptx, and sub sample every 2nd column and 2nd row, or more if you see fit. We show how you can create your own groups and layers and set the visibility for these layers within recap that will aid you in the classification process. we then export the mesh for processing in revit.
