Astromaterials Nasa Science
Astromaterials Nasa Science The mission of astromaterials research and exploration science division, or ares, is to combine scientific and engineering expertise in order to advance human space exploration, to integrate terrestrial and planetary research, and to promote successful space missions by mitigating risk. Astromat is funded by nasa’s planetary sciences division, planetary data ecosystem. astromat is a coretrustseal certified repository service for researchers to publish and archive astromaterials sample data. data is shared in compliance with open data policies.
Astromaterials Nasa Science Sharing unique, often extraterrestrial, nasa science content with learners of all ages. nasa’s astromaterials team is housed at the johnson space center in houston, texas. our team facilitates efficient and effective sharing of unique nasa assets and science mission directorate (smd) content. The mission of astromaterials research and exploration science division, or ares, is to combine scientific and engineering expertise in order to advance human space exploration, to integrate terrestrial and planetary research, and to promote successful space missions by mitigating risk. We now curate the largest and most comprehensive collection of extraterrestrial samples in the world, with materials from the moon, mars, the sun, asteroids, comets, other stars, and space exposed hardware. Jsc is home to nasa’s nine current astromaterials collections. we provide samples to support the scientific study of astromaterials to qualified researchers across the globe. we preserve the scientific integrity of the samples for study by future generations with future analytical technologies.

The mission of the astromaterials 3d project is to make more accessible nasa's apollo lunar sample and antarctic meteorite collections, and to share their wondrous cosmochemical stories through interactive, high resolution, research grade 3d models. From asteroid samples to cosmic dust, the astromaterials data system (astromat) makes nasa's laboratory analysis of planetary samples open to all.
