The lending libraries of assistive technology pilot project promotes the use of assistive technology to assist in send education. it helps make learning more inclusive, and aims to increase independence, confidence, and engagement for send pupils.
Assistive Technology Lending Library Defiance County Board Of Ttap has an assistive technology device loan program designed to meet the needs of persons not served by existing agency loan programs. this program will allow persons with disabilities, their families, educators, service providers and employers to borrow at devices for six weeks and may be renewed if the device has not been requested by. This resource guide provides information on ala policies and resources for library service to persons with disabilities, information on ala working groups, a selected bibliography, and other online resources. Backed by up to £1.7m, ‘lending libraries’ will be set up in up to 32 local authorities and will enable schools in the area to borrow and trial a range of devices to suit their pupils’ needs.
