Math Creativity Literacy Mathematics And Creativity In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on fostering creativity in mathematics education to promote a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts, improved problem solving. We compare mathematical creativity to creativity in other domains, provide examples of novelty, and contrast these to novelty in other domains and explain types of creativity in mathematics based on perspectives in philosophy. This special issue aims to reflect current research on creativity in mathematics education and to encourage international exchange of ideas related to the empirical and theoretical research on creativity in mathematics and mathematics education and on creativity in teaching and learning mathematics. Understanding mathematical concepts, learning experiences, and motivation all have an impact on students creative mathematical thinking skills. it is hoped that the results of this research can be considered when designing learning that can develop students' mathematical creative thinking abilities.

Articles on mathematical creativity from 2002 to 2022 that were indexed in scopus using biblioshiny and vosviewer. the authors analyzed 162 publications in terms of document distribution patterns and growth trends, contributions and impacts from countries, institutions, authors, and journal. In this special issue we introduce the state of the art of empirical studies on creativity in mathematics and mathematics education. to do so we conducted a retrospective analysis of empirical studies on mathematical creativity with special attention to the studies conducted during the last decade. Using pearson correlations, authors found significant relationships among all the measures of creativity (fluency, ofe, and tmc) and between all the indices of creativity and both the measures.
