This fly through features the second part of the collapsed crane, whereas the collection of frames below shows the concept of the traversals first part. the first image is a bluesky version from very early on of how abby traverses a collapsed crane between two high rise buildings.

I was responsible for scene setup, lighting, camera animation and framing, character animation, and rendering. below you can see the original sequence from terminator 2: judgment day, followed by my recreation. When i had to pause development, i didn’t want the work to go to waste, so i decided to revisit an old idea — testing a 2.5d pipeline and turning the result into a portfolio piece. i hesitated for a long time, since the 2d sprites were already nearly complete.

The animation is now complete! this is my first time animating a scene like this and i'm really happy with how it turned out. i usually don't animate humans, but i wanted to push myself this time. the whole process took about 1 week and a half to 2 weeks by using maya. I had the amazing opportunity of working with axis studios on the destiny 2 lightfall expansion cinematics as a vehicle artist. it was a blast and i gained great insight into the extremely talented and well oiled cg production of axis.
