Trying out a randomized colour challenge i saw! as someone who started in grayscale (with pencils) and has always had confidence issues when it comes to colour, this is honestly a very freeing process and a great way to illustrate how important values are for the final result. My take on the popular color wheel challenge in which you draw a character you like for each color on the wheel. i had a fun time making this and gave me a good opportunity to practice composition, drawing unfamiliar art styles, and coloring practice. The entire colour wheel challenge in all its glory! much thanks to my instagram audience for suggesting such diverse and varied array of characters which allowed me to dabble in different fandoms and try drawing so many different types of characters, some of which i might have never drawn otherwise. In this quick tutorial, i'll walk you through a new procedural in maxwell studio. very handy for randomizing colours or tints of colours in your material when applied to a group of objects. useful for all sorts of tiles (floor, wall, roof, etc), grass, leaves, pretty much any scattered objects like candies in my case 🙂 cheers.
