Comic Culture September 14th 2016 Comic Book Daily I've been buying, selling, and collecting comics for over 35 years. i will continue to add content of my purchases, as well as other content relevant to the comic universe. I have another competition running on my comics anonymous page for a comic that was signed at mcm a couple of weeks ago but it brought up the whole question of charging for signatures for me again. It’s not as insane as nycc, but still very crowded. if you’ve been to one comic con, you should have a general idea of what to expect. i find them all to be relatively similar and i find the comic con environment to be fun so i always enjoy going.

You generally don't have to look far to find joy at any comic con, but at c2e2, it seemed to hover all around us on the show floor. fans were just happy and i could tell that for many of them, c2e2 was a special destination. Julie discussed the book and answered questions from readers on saturday, with the event drawing a larger group of readers than the previous two years. overall, the vibe felt pretty on par with past years, which is a mixed bag. My fear is that it's more of a pop culture con and will be filled with more toy memoribilia etc vendors vs actual comic vendors. i know that buying online usually results in better prices, but there's something special about being there in person and digging through long boxes. call me old school. Tl;dr: c2e2, like nycc, is a very expensive convention, but if you're good enough to get in you're probably going to make at least a little money. be prepared to walk a lot though at least next year it won't be in the freezing cold, instead in the august heat and the same weekend as gencon.
