Aquarius Hackaday In the mid 1980s, apple was already looking to move away from the motorola 68000 for performance reasons, and part of the reason it took so long to make the switch is that in the intervening years. So i built aquawrite, which connects to aqua's pin header, to load programs data into memory on the aquarius from an sd card. using aquawrite, it is possible to write and assemble programs on a modern computer, then write the machine code, as a sequence of newline delimited bytes, to a text file.

Mattel Aquarius Hackaday Seymour cray was reported to have used a mac for part of the cray supercomputer design work. it was a joke: when seymour was informed that apple was using a cray machine to design their computers he said something like "funny, i use an apple computer to design the cray". Hackaday serves up fresh hacks every day from around the internet. read the latest articles from hackaday and all things of interest to hardware hackers, designers, and engineers. The author of the article paints a picture of a situation in which expensive hardware was purchased on a whim without much planning beforehand. this hardware was ill suited to their task, and ultimately led to failure of the project while others (e.g., arm) were quickly producing risc designs with low budgets. this sort of thing isn't uncommon in larger organizations that have money to burn on. [nick bild] has a soft spot in his heart for the machine though and built the aqua cartridge to make the aquarius into a more usable machine. originally equipped with a mere 4 kb of ram and a small, rubbery keyboard, it’s not too surprising that the aquarius only lasted five months on the market.

After a short test period, aquarius will hand over the reins for choosing market pairs to the community. they will do this through the voting tool mentioned previously. The main issue with the aquarius is that it only has an rf video output, which results in a rather poor rendition of its already very limited graphics capabilities. Although it could be done with basic circuitry, i'm using an arduino with a couple of sipo chips so that a single controller can output to both controller inputs at the same time. i currently have the joystick mapped with all 16 directions, the keypad and side buttons.
